Subtweet Intermission Pt. 8” is the final chapter of a series built around everything Jae Anthonie was never quite ready to say directly. What began as clever shots, indirect messages, and late-night thoughts eventually became a reflection of relationships, ego, frustration, growth, and self-awareness. On Pt. 8, Jae isn’t searching for the last word anymore. He’s searching for peace. The song captures that space between who you were and who you’re becoming, when you realize not every feeling needs a response, an explanation, or an audience. More importantly, “Subtweet Intermission Pt. 8” signals the birth of West Coast Papa, the next evolution of Jae Anthonie. In the second verse, Jae turns inward and begins speaking directly to Jon Luní, another character inside his mind. Their conversation shifts the record from a reflection on relationships into an internal battle over identity, growth, and the person Jae is becoming. The humor, honesty, and sharp writing that defined the “Subtweet” series are still present, but the perspective has changed. Instead of aiming outward, Jae turns the mirror toward himself. As part of Processing, Pt. 8 becomes both an ending and an origin story. It's the closing of one chapter, the emergence of West Coast Papa, and the beginning of a deeper conversation between the different sides of Jae Anthonie. Sometimes growth isn’t having something better to say. Sometimes it’s becoming someone new.
